Youcan throw them to the ground, yes. Throwing them a distance was never a feature to my knowledge. I could be entirely wrong. It might be aiming with the left trigger then throwing with triangle/Y or the right trigger. And the "cinematic aim" thing was replaced by the ability to manually aim ranged weapons. 3.
